GUC

  • Why is GUC going to Las Vegas.
This trip is designed for the team to learn different aspects of the circus industry as well as bond as a team. This is a trial run to see if something like this could become a yearly event where we explore different parts of the globe and learn how different companies and individuals look at circus.
  • Will I have to do everything with the group?
YES and no. The whole point of this trip is to bond as a team. Some activities will be together and others will be done in groups. This will make transportation easier and the team will have a schedule that everyone is aware of. We don't want anyone left in Vegas because they got lost. Group make things better and easier to track everyone.

BAGS FLY FREE! Each person is allowed to check in their bag for free. You are also allowed 1 carry on and 1 personal Item. (Normally I have a backpack and a small suitcase.) Please note that a purse is considered a personal Item no matter the size. I reccomend bringing a backpack and putting your purse in it. Tickets are sent out via mobile device. They can also be printed. Everyone must check in to their flight which will determine when you board. (Those traveling in groups, you can have whoever boards first hold a few seats until you get on. You can not save multiple rows as the flight crew will not allow that. )
  • How will we get around Vegas.
At the moment, we are still researching the best ways to get around. When going to training at the LVCC, we will have to have a mode of transportation. This will be done with arranged share rides, chartered vans or a chartered bus for everyone. For most things on the strip, everything is within a 20 -25 min walk. During that time of year, the weather should be pretty nice. Make sure you pack walking shoes.
  • When are final payments due?
Final payments are due as soon as possible with a deadline of December 20th.
  • What hotel will we be staying in.
We have secured 15 room at the Bellagio Hotel for week one. For week two we are in the process of booking rooms at The Excalibur Hotel as the rates are a lot cheaper per night. For those going BOTH WEEKS, we will switch hotels on the 14th
  • How much are the hotels?
The full stay of the trip is $291.00. Rooms are shared. Those who wish to secure a room for themselves will have to pay for the entire room. All shared rooms must be secured first so those who have paid their deposits are ensured a room. Individual rooms will be released after all shared rooms are booked.
  • Can my family come to Vegas with us?
Absolutely! In regards to the hotel, we have a block of 15 rooms reserved. As of now we are only using 10 of them. We have room to spare. In order to make sure everyone has a room we need a deposit placed for the trip. This trip will be used to secure the flight to Vegas. If they are making their own flight arrangements, the deposit will go towards the hotel.
  • Will we be allowed to leave the hotel after activities are over?
Yes. Once activities are over and everyone is done for the day, some may chose to go back to the hotel an other do an activity. If this happens, a group leader will be responsible for the activity and the participants of the activity. They MUST check in with the trip leader at various points throughout the activity and when they have returned to the hotel to verify everyone is safe. This will be done through SportsYou.
  • Will there be men or boys in the room with my female child?
NO! All male participants will stay in their own room. While some students are comfortable with each other we will have everyone in their own spaces. No male adults will be allowed to stay in any rooms with any students unless the child is apart of their family and only the family is in that room.
  • Who will be in the hotel room with me/my child?
We will have pre determined guest for each room. Everyone will be assigned a room that. Based on these assignments, if the child wishes to switch rooms, they must first have their parents send in a request. The students must also contact the person they wish to change with and have that approved be that room mother.

  • Is there anything else planned for training?
Yes, Coach D is working on a surprise for the participants once we get to Las Vegas.
  • How does the Attraction pass work?
For the attraction pass, participants will have the opportunity to partake in these activities when we are not doing scheduled activities. At the moment we have 2 activities per day scheduled: Training and ont other event such as a show or shopping. If participants are choosing the attraction pass, everyone will start scheduling what they want to do and when so we can have an accurate plan of where everyone will be. From there a room mother will be assigned to every group. The room mother will communicate with the Trip leader as to the status of that group via SportsYou. Example: 4 people are going to the escape room. Room mother will report 4 people leaving for attraction, 4 people arriving to attraction, 4 people departing from attraction, 4 people making it back to hotel. This way we know where everyone is.
